B.O.'s Decisive Indecisiveness
Sometimes, it is good to be the king, as long as one doesn't have to make any decisions. Unfortuantely, B.O. is being boxed in a corner and he has decided to blame Bush, again.
Let us look at one of his greatest indecisions; Sudan.
There has been thus far, the ringing of hands and the obligatory words but little action. B.O. did, however, decisively decide to accept the Nobel Peace Prize. Way to go, B.O...... But now the time has come for the leader of a country to do something extraordinary--to lead. Right now, thousands are suffering, and what are you doing? Dancing on Latino night!!! Meanwhile over 2.2 million Sudanese have been butchered and you decide to lift sanctions.
Welcome to the world of B.O. The accolades roll in and the act of saying mere words elevates one to king of the world. The rock stars want to be your friends and you spend the people's money so you can travel "just because." But now, B.O., tough decisions must be made. Does the child dying in Darfur matter to you? Should a "son of Africa" reject what is happening? B.O., millions have been uprooted and the election is again looking to be postponed. Are you going to allow this murder to continue?
Apparently, you are.
On the 19th of October, your ambassador the United Nations, and your Secretary of State, finally revealed you Sudan policy. What is your policy? That you will use "menu of incentives and disincentives." So, in other words, B.O., you are going to use diplomacy on a group, that has for over twelve years rejected all diplomacy. That is some good thinking, B.O. Omar al-Bashir is really worried now. I can see why that policy took such a long time to develop. Do you hear that B.O.? That is the sound of the last breath of a child in a refugee camp, the truest critique of your policy. Meanwhile, the crisis has gotten even worse.
When your regime first began, you said the problem mainly was in the western region of Sudan. Where the Muslim Bashir government practised genocide against the Christian Sudanese and other non-Muslim peoples, using militas. Meanwhile over 2.2 million Sudanese have been butchered and you decide to lift sanctions.
Now, however, B.O., the troubles are now spreading to the southern region as well.
Adding to this beautiful little cornucuppia of indecisiveness, is that your "partner" in this "diplomacy" is Bashir's government and his militia. Tell me, are you now adopting the Carter Foreign Policy of "blame American first, and you never met a dictator you didn't like?"
Since Bashir has now been indicted on war-crime charges in your International Criminal Court (ICC) at the Hague, is that where the "negotiations" are going to take place? Bashir and his government are guilty of enslavement, rape, torture, starvation and murder of the Sudanese people. Your approach of engagement boggles the mind. Are you going to offer him a hug too?
I know there will be a meeting of the minds, "We both hate George W. Bush." Say, that is a good diplomatic ploy. Always find common ground. Then what B.O.? He gives you the keys to his place in Khartoum and rides out into the sunset?
B.O., it is time to earn that Nobel Peace Prize -- BRING PEACE TO THE SUDAN!!!
